I attended an aweome imaging workshop yesterday, and came away with tons of information and inspiration! We photographed a ballerina and a karate student. Here are a couple montage designs I put together. I can't wait to offer these to high school seniors!

It's that time of year again to start thinking about senior portraits! If you know a high school senior that will graduate in 2011, send them my way! You will receive portrait credit for any referrals! I have one rep at Burke and possibly one from Millard North right now, but I like to have several reps from each area high school. They can email or call me, and I can give them all the information on the rep program. They will receive some great incentives to be a rep!

Easter Portrait Specials

Easter is on April 4th this year. I know it's hard to think about booking your Easter portrait session, but in order to have them back by Easter, the sessions need to be completed during the first half of March. The stores will be coming out with their Easter and Spring dressy clothing within the next couple weeks, so don't delay! If you book your session on March 4th, 5th, 6th, 12th or 13th, you will receive a free session and discounted portaits! The Specials page has been updated with the information. I've got some cute set ups, and although I considered live bunnies and chicks, my allergies and aversion to farm animals prevented me from moving forward with that idea. I do have some very realistic looking bunnies and chicks though, and the CUTEST set up for babies 18 months and younger. Can't wait to do this! Call or email to book!

Hello everyone! Now that the mad rush of holiday ordering is completed, I wanted to take a chance to wish all of my clients a very merry Christmas! I hope everyone is healthy for the holidays. That in itself is a great gift!

I've been extremely blessed this year, with the opportunity to go full force with my photography business. I've gained some great new clients this year, thanks to all the referrals from you! I can't thank you enough- you've helped my dream become a reality, and my business doubled again this year, despite the slump in the economy.

Wow, what a busy time of year! Not that I'm complaining- I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have 101 things to do at the same time! :) Fall sessions are done, and they all went great, despite having to juggle a few sessions around due to weather. I will continue to do holiday sessions through Dec. 7th, and orders will need to be placed within 5 days to receive in time before Christmas.

To all my wonderful clients, both old and new- thank you so much for your business and referrals. I would not be in business if it were not for you. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, and happy shopping, if you are one of the brave souls that goes out on Black Friday. I'll be one of them!

Janie and Jack Photo Shoots

Check out these cutie pies I photographed at Janie and Jack a couple weeks ago! I got so lucky because they were all in fatastic, happy moods! Guess the bribing with the candy helped a little bit too! :) I had so much fun and met some great families. The staff at Janie and Jack were great too, and were lots of fun to hang out with for a couple of days! They let me move their fixtures around to accomodate my equipment, and helped entertain the little ones.

Hi everyone,
I've posted the holiday specials on the website. All the stores have their holiday clothing out, so get to shopping! I have some beautiful new card designs this year, for either the normal photo card greetings, or flat (card stock) press printed or folded cards. These are gorgeous!

Also new this year - session fees are waived in exchange for a package of diapers to benefit the Diaper Drive, which is sponsored by Channel 94.1. The diapers will go to the Lydia House, to help homeless mothers and their babies.

**All portrait orders must be received by Nov. 28th in order for you to receive your cards in time to mail out before Christmas. Please keep this in mind when booking your session.

I know, it seems awful early to think about holiday portrait sessions and cards, but I am going to be posting my specials in the next week so I can get it on the calendar.

I am going to have some fabulous new card designs this year - both flat cards and folding cards on press printed paper. They come in a gloss, linen or pearl finish. Pricing will be available soon on my website. Regular photograph paper cards are still going to be available as well.

If you're doing an outdoor session with me next month, consider using one (or several) of those images for your holiday cards. They will be absolutely stunning on the press printed paper, and will definitely stand out! The colors of my new card designs have some earthy tones, so they'll look great with outdoor portraits on them. I'll post some examples of some images when I post the special pricing.

If you want to come in for a holiday session, I'll be booking those in the first 2 weeks of November. I'll have several different set ups available. One that I'm really excited about has a classic, victorian feel to it.

Some of the stores already have their holiday clothing outfits, and they are picture perfect! Check out Gymboree and Janie and Jack. I am loving all of it!

Studio remodeling

We are remodeling the studio with a new mahogany cherry wood floor. I guess I should say my husband is! :) I think it's gorgeous, and I'm so excited to have some new options with which to use it! I'll be doing a lot more natural light sessions as well; mainly with newborns. Check back soon.... some exciting new stuff to come!

I just love these images of Stella! These were not taken in the studio; we just used natural window light. I can't wait for her to come back so we can photograph her in her ballet shoes. I Think we will use natural light again on a mahogany cherry wood floor. See you soon Stella!

I did Danny's senior portrait session for him last Saturday, and I had a great time! He was so laid back and easy to work with. Of course, most guys are when it comes to getting their pictures taken! We had great weather for the outdoor shots, despite some pesky mosquitos. Thanks Danny!

Fall is fast approaching, so for those of you that have been thinking about doing an outdoor family portrait session, now is the time to get it booked before all the spots are gone! I have posted the specials on my website as well. Sessions will be 45 minutes long, and will be booked back to back. If you are late for your session, we will do as many shots as possible until the next group arrives. Your sitting fee is due when you book your session. This holds your appointment for you, and is not refundable if you cancel. It may be applied towards a future session. If there is inclement weather, we will reschedule for another date. This is a great time to order holiday cards as well. One less thing to do in November or December! This is my busiest (and favorite) time of year, so editing/proofing time will run an extra day longer than normal. Several spots have already been booked, so don't delay in getting your session on the calendar!

I did an outdoor session for Connor last week, and it was tons of fun! I followed him around and got lots of great shots of him playing and exploring. He found a frog, and had tons of fun chasing it. He also had a ball throwing rocks in the water. What an arm! Future hall of famer, perhaps? I'm sure dad would be okay with that! :)

Wow, I can't believe I let so much time go by since my last post! Life has been a little crazy for the last 2 1/2 months, but I hope to get back to normal once school starts next week.

Many of you know I was also working part time, and was laid off in June. They let all the part timers go, so it has been nice to have the summer off with my kids. I know this was a blessing, and will now allow me to devote all my time and energy towards what I love - photography! This is now my only gig, so I will have more openings available. Keep sending over those referrals!

I am still booking sessions for high school seniors. Every school has a different dead line, so make sure you don't miss it!

I also thought I would post a picture from a display I had up at the Baby Gap store at Oakview Mall back in June. What a great bunch of people they are! So much fun, and so awesome for giving me the opportunity to set up in their store for a full 3 days.

Emily is a senior rep for me for Mercy High. I had a great time photographing her, and I'm very excited to have her as a rep for me. We are going to do her outdoor session this fall since there is no deadline for her school, and I'm really looking forward to it. She brought along her mom and sister, who did an awesome job at getting her to laugh, so we really got some great shots. She has a very natural smile, which really made my job easy!

Ellie and her parents live in our neighborhood, so I know her pretty well. She was all smiles for her photo session, and believe it or not, we did not try to get her to do these poses for us! It was all her, which made it so much fun for me to make this collage. Happy 2nd birthday Ellie!

I was so excited to photograph Brynlee for her newborn session! Her mom is our daycare provider, so we have been anticipating Brynlee's birth for quite some time. I will be capturing Brynlee's first year, and I am so excited! She didn't fuss at all, and we were moving her all over the place to get the right shots. She's already sleeping through the night (why didn't I get that lucky?!), and seems like she's a pretty laid back baby so far. I just hope my girls' craziness doesn't rub off on her too much! :)

Haley arrived in a great mood for her 6 month session! We got tons of smiles, and she didn't object to anything we wanted to do. Her dad is a big Cubs fan, so we took some shots of her in her Cubs jersey. So cute! My husband is also an obsessed Cubs fan, so I am pretty sure he's going to track down a jersey like Haley's for our baby. Can't wait to see you at your 9 month session Haley!
